Texas Tea House

About This Project

A yoga room and a music room are linked by a breezeway.  Windows and doors were sized and positioned to provide glimpses of earth and sky.  A landscape, inspired by Japanese gardens, joins everything back to the main house.  Ipe wood is used as a thread to connect everything in the form of low enclosures.  The structures, also clad in ipe, were designed to perch above the landscape.  Clerestory windows with broad overhangs augment a lantern effect at night.
